Organisations use Algo endpoints as an extension of their emergency notification systems, keeping the public alert
Emergency notifications are crucial to alerting people to a variety of events, including extreme weather, natural occurrences, accidents, intruder alerts, lockdowns and more.
Alerting systems often require endpoints to deliver visual and audible alarms for effective alerting that reaches all audiences in any environment.
Due to emergency notifications being so vital to keeping members of the public safe, it is important that organisations have the right tools in place.
Acknowledging these factors, Algo has developed its range of IP endpoints that can be deployed with device management tools for real-time assurance so that organisations know the device is functioning.
Ryan Zoehner, Head of Operations at Algo , commented: “Organisations need an effective way to deliver emergency notifications to the occupants of their buildings.
“Often, organisations want to integrate their notifications with a UC or emergency notification platform.
“Algo endpoints are on-premise devices that are third-party compliant and can merge into most leading UC and emergency systems, such as Singlewire Informacast, Intrado Revolution and 911 Inform, to ensure those messages are heard, delivered, noticed, and seen by the audience.”
Algo’s endpoints for emergency notifications include IP speakers, strobe lights, paging adapters and push buttons.
Any combination or number of Algo IP endpoints can be configured for multicast in an emergency alerting environment to ensure that all rooms, buildings, campuses or enterprises can be covered.
Algo’s devices can be configured easily via the web interface so they can be customised to suit the environment that they are deployed in.
The endpoints have the following two activation options:
Algo’s endpoints can register up to ten emergency alert extensions, allowing for a pre-recorded WAV file announcement and/or tone to be broadcast when an extension is called in the event of an emergency.
Algo has also implemented a ‘Call to Cancel’ feature that allows the emergency alert to continuously play until it is cancelled.
The user who activates the emergency alert does not have to remain on the telephone as when the call is made, the Algo endpoint will play the configured file.
This makes emergency alerting simple and efficient from any telephone or device in the unified communication environment.
To cancel the emergency notifications, the ‘call to cancel’ extension must be configured and will only apply to any of the emergency alert extensions that are registered.
The Algo 1202 and 1203 buttons can be used as an alternative option to activate emergency alerting systems by using single-twisted pair 24-gauge wiring to connect the endpoints to a button, with the power for the buttons provided by the available PoE from the Algo IP endpoint.
